COMM 2010

I HATED this class. There really was no reason for me to take this class, but I thought it wouldn't be too bad. It was. Don't take unless you have to.

this class is not as hard as everyone claims. Do not waste time with the book just skim through it. the prof does not make tests according to the book, put more time on lecture notes and exercises instead. Be careful with the final which is harder than the midterms.

I agree with the guy below, the book is pretty dry and she does a good job covering everything you need to know in class, as well as giving out very good notes. The third test is supposedly harder than the first two, but it's just more math based and there are a lot more "procedures" and ratios that must be memorized. Just take the time to memorize them and you'll do fine. Know your ratios for the final and how they relate to the balance sheet. Don't let yourself be intimidated by what everyone else says, it's not that hard of a class.

As long as you pay attention in class, its not that difficult. The book helps a little, but the lecture is what's most important. Don't fall asleep, you'll miss out on a lot.

Make sure you get the early material under your belt in order to get the later material, it all builds on itself

Hard class. Need to take for comm school. Just take an easy courseload with it if you can

Erickson is a good professor and I highly recommend taking this class with her. Her lectures + lecture notes and practice problems present the material you need to know in a straightforward manner. The textbook is a bit long winded and goes into much more detail than is usually necessary, but is good as reference. The difficulty of this class is indeed somewhat overrated. 3rd midterm is a lot tougher than the 1st two though. Final Exam isn't too hard either. Just go to class and make sure you understand the different accounts/entries and how they relate to the three principal financial.

The class is very tough. You have to make sure you keep up with your reading or you will be left behind. The tests are difficult, but fair to some extent. The teacher is great. She knows exactly what she is talking about and can help you with anything.

Erickson explains all of the material really well. The class definitely gets much more difficult as the semester drags on, with the 3rd test and final exam being extremely difficult. If you put in the time, you will get a B in this class or better.
