Build your schedule around avoiding this professor's class. She is evil like people say. She treats the class like a bunch of high schoolers. I lost points on a quiz for converting cents to dollars. Because everyone knows of the importance of making calculations in cents...When asking for help and you use the wrong terminology, she will correct you like you dont speak english. She grades ferociously. This is the worst textbook I have ever seen in my life. It makes your flip back and forth in-between chapters to reference questions so they dont have to re-type them. She posts solutions to the un-graded homework, and the typos can range from slightly annoying, to giving us completely the wrong solutions, and instead of trying to fix it like a normal professor, she just warns us in class if the typos are really bad. She reads from the book during class sometimes. She also grinds your bones to make her bread.
When studying for quizzes and tests, she tells the class to "go for the understanding". But when grading, she'll take points off for semantic errors even when it's clear the logical steps and answer are correct. She is incredibly condescending and impatient when answering students' questions in class. And she teaches almost directly from the book.
I was scared after I read all the reviews about Snider, but really she is not half bad as people say she is. Although she can be quite snippy and mean, she is a great teacher. I didn't even have to read the book since her notes were so detailed and carefully written. The tests are somewhat hard, but doable if you pay attention in class.
