Prof. Mick really cares about his students and enjoys what he teaches. If you have a question, he responds via email usually within an hour. He will help you whenever! The group project isn't too hard, but look at past examples to get an idea of what he wants. If you are a Marketing concentrator, you have to take this class so sometimes it gets boring but there are interesting lectures too.
Extremely easy class, but you probably can't get in unless you're concentrating in marketing. Midterm and final are very specific, but he gives you a study guide in advance - know the study guide, and you'll definitely do well. There is a large group project, but it seems like everyone gets pretty good grades as long as its clear they put in effort.
Professor Mick is a really nice guy and he really cares about teaching the material in the class. Although a lot of the topics seem pretty straightforward, it is actually a very useful class for students interested in marketing and advertising. One project and two tests (which can be pretty specific and require studying) #tcf2016
Mick is nice and cares about his students. The class is so easy and it was hard to stay awake at times. If you have someone who can work Excel or Tableau pretty well you are golden. He wants to give everyone A's. Just study for the test and put conscious and thoughtful effort into the group project. #tcf2016
DEFINITELY take this course with Mick. He is extremely well-versed in marketing research and gives you the most insight on research tools than any other professor. This class is mandatory for a lot, but it really is a great class. I learned SO much, and the skills you learn are applicable to pretty much any internship/job you get because it gives you an idea of how to properly use different statistical analyses for different situations. I have used what I learned in this class all throughout my internship this summer. Tests are very easy, just memorize what he gives you on the study guide and you'll ace the exams. Group projects he tends to grade super easily if you put the effort into it-- I think average for projects was like a 94 which is crazy high in my opinion. Great class, great professor!
Mick tries so to be fun but he is so serious.
Pros: He goes in detail through theory of marketing research and provides realistic examples.
Cons: He doesn't know much about using excel and technology in general.
About the course: the first half requires a lot of memorization, and the second half is more hands on of how to analyze data in matrices, correlations and regressions.
