class consists mainly of reading a negotiation case and negotiating with someone else outside of class; during class, we would go over our negotiations and learn lessons from each; not a large time commitment and the class is fun and teaches you a lot; grading is fair; grades come from negotiations, class participation, and a final paper (7 pages double spaced--not long)
Not only a fantastic individual, but a fantastic individual. You will learn valuable negotiating skills through dozens of cases that span from business to personal situations. Plus, Bass shares some amazing stories, and he really makes the class discussions a good time! Only negative in this class is there is a bit of repetition with some of the cases, but not a big deal considering the light work load and great experience the class offers!
This class was great. Professor Bass is funny, approachable, and teaches you skills that are applicable throughout your life. This class is also very easy, with your grade dictated by your negotiation case grades, class participation, and a final paper. If you participate and get to know Prof. Bass outside of class, it should be an easy solid A. HOWEVER, if you are a lazy 4th year, I would recommend against this class. The cases are a bit of a pain to do, since you have to meet outside of class to do them, often with only 1 day's notice to find a time to meet. The cases can also get a bit redundant with "solutions" to the negotiations being very similar. But, if you want a simple class with a cool professor that requires a little bit of work, I recommend it.
