I thoroughly recommend this class. Professor Moore is a very engaging lecturer and a fair and reasonable grader. I always felt prepared for my quizzes and tests, and I felt the information asked of me was well within the bounds of discussion.
The material of the class is bit more complicated than that of COMM Law 1, but if you did well in that class, you will do well in this class. The tests are even more based in application questions than I remember Comm 1 being. We talked mainly about Corporation and business formation, partnership agreements, intellectual property rights, and the controlling of the sale of goods. I'm not particularly interested in any of that, but I thoroughly enjoyed learning about it from Professor Moore.
The structure of the class is very straightforward. There are weekly reading quizzes, 2 midterms, and a final exam. The quizzes are worth 20% of your grade, the midterms are 20% a piece, and the final is 40%. All the exams are online, taken through Collab. As in Comm 1, you are allowed the two sheets of notes to have with you while you take the exam. There are regular extra credit opportunities. The TAs are also great at following through with SDAC accommodations, which is refreshing.
If you're looking for an easy class with limited homework, I recommend this class. I spent about one hour a week on reviewing for the reading quizzes, and about 5-7ish hours studying for the midterms, I will end the course with an A. There was no weekly reading.
Additionally, Professor Moore was incredibly understanding and accommodating with all that has happened this semester.

If you enjoyed Comm Law I, then you will definitely enjoy this course. Professor Moore removed weekly quizzes and you instead make them up by doing case studies of Supreme Court cases and debating those in class. Overall, the assignments are easy and the in-class discussion is pretty intense but fun. It's a very educational opportunity. The tests seem more application-based than the ones in Comm Law I which make them more direct and easier in my opinion. The cheat sheets that she permits are allowed to be typed and you get three whole pages so you can pretty much write down all the notes for the test onto the cheat sheet and use them super effectively during the test. Highly recommend!

Sherri Moore is the GOAT. Take this class and get to know her while you're at it. Great professor, great content, great lessons learned from the course.

Sherri Moore is easily one of the most enjoyable professors at this school. Comm Law II is a great follow-up to the first class, diving much deeper into the business side of law, including topics such as patents, contracts, and business entities. If you have any interest in law school or the law this is 100% a class to take. Even if you don't, it is an good class made enjoyable by a great professor. I would rate is slightly less favorably compared to Comm Law I

For the exams you are allowed to bring typed/handwritten cheat sheets that you are able to cram most of the course material on to.

Sherri Moore is a gem and if you enjoyed CL1, you'll enjoy CL2. This class helped me realize I do NOT want to go into Commercial Law, but that isn't a knock on the professor or the class at all; if anything, it's a good thing that I figured it out early on. Professor Moore is unorganized, but if you made it through CL1 then you'll absolutely be fine for CL2. There's not much else to say other than I think it's slightly easier than CL1 and you get to type your cheat sheets. The class is 20% case brief assignment, 20% x 2 midterms, 40% final.

Overall very solid course! Sherri Moore is wonderful and genuinely the best professor I have ever had here at UVA. This semester, this course has changed and follows the same exact footprint as Comm Law 1 with weekly quizzes, 2 exams, and a final exam. The cheat sheets have been changed as well so they are now handwritten in CL2 versus in the past typed was allowed. I really enjoyed the course but did not enjoy it as much as CL1. I found the lectures to be somewhat disorganized and not as coherent as CL1. Nonetheless I walked away learning SO MUCH information that will definitely be useful when entering the professional workforce. Unlike CL1 which is basic general overview of law, CL2 is much more business oriented, focusing on things such as business types, trademarks, patents, copyright, workers rights, etc. Overall I recommend! Though I did not do as well in CL2 as i did in CL1, Sherri is just the absolute best professor and the course format is identical to CL1!
