The actual content of the course is interesting, but lectures can be boring. Atchison is a very nice guy but can go on tangents and doesn't seem too interested in the content. The online resources are very helpful if you look into them. Make sure to take the online practice tests before tests.

Useless class. Only take if you want to go to the Comm school. Exams asked stupid minor detail like "Which Guy is in Forbes Top CEOs" or something along that line. sheesh.

The only reason to attend class is to get marked for attendance. Exams are pretty straightforward and pretty easy. Just read the text, look at the Wall Street Journal questions, and if you are still worried, take the practice tests from the book's website as there's normally a few questions copied and pasted from there to the exam.

Atchison is great, and particularly a good speaker.

This class was easy, but THE WORST class I have taken at UVa. Atchison is terribly boring and going to class is useless.

Very easy class, Atchison is a good professor, enthusiastic and sometimes funny.

Requires reading, especially prior to the exams, because the exams focus on specific definitions. Not too hard of a class, but because it can be commonsense based at times some students might underestimate tests and get a grade slightly lower then they anticipate. Study a little bit before tests and you'll wind up with an A/A- or B+. There really is no excuse to get anything less than a B+ in this class.

Everything on the tests are straight from the book. Make sure you go to class and do the readings

Simple class as long as you keep up with the readings in the book. Takes attendance so show up for class.
