I had the privilege of taking "How Do You Measure a Life?" in the spring as my final EGMT during my first year. The course title perfectly summarizes the questions and discussions our class had throughout the quarter. As someone who loves to hear and discuss different perspectives, this class quickly became my favorite. We delved deeply into topics ranging from age and personality to eugenics, technology, and more, all from an empirical perspective.
The readings were exciting and diverse, making it easy to engage with the material during class. The homework setup was very creative and enjoyable, and group presentations were a great way to connect with my peers. Professor Reilly was very enthusiastic about the topics we covered, which I believe prevented us from ever having a quiet classroom. My peers were always open to sharing their opinions, creating a great environment overall. Professor Reilly consistently provided feedback on our homework, and it was reassuring to know that she read and engaged with our work. "How Do You Measure a Life?" was definitely my favorite engagement, and I would take it again in a heartbeat!
