The class was easy, I got a 92 in the class and got a B+ though. Lowest grade of the semester and was my easiest class. Expect to lose lots of points for no reason. He said people did too good in the class last year, so not only did he make the class harder, but he increased the threshold to get an A. A 93 was still considered a B+. Take the other professor instead of this one, her class was so much easier it was a joke in comparison. Learned useful skills but is annoying that it dropped my GPA for no reason.
Finished with a 92.35% and got a B+ in the class. He uses a grading scale that is different from the rest of the university and doesn’t curve. Also, the TA made errors constantly throughout the semester and he failed to take care of this. Take it with the other professor, don’t waste your time and GPA with him. #tCFF23
This might be my favorite class I've taken at UVA. It's incredibly well-structured, Professor Grazioli is super supportive (and responsive), and you learn very applicable skills. We covered SQL, ERDs, database design best practices, and then moved onto visualizations with Power BI. The assignments were mostly miniprojects that are built to minimize time and maximize learning, and the two "exams" were just in-class, open-book SQL assignments. Professor Grazioli truly cares about his students and continuously asked for feedback on our course experience, which he would immediately implement. I learned so much without any of the usual stress of temporarily memorizing a bunch of stuff for an exam. Can't recommend this highly enough! It's seriously the best-value course I've taken here.
