Professor Kerrigan is an absolutely wonderful professor and just overall person! He has a little fun at the beginning of each class and the class overall is not bad. The nine mini/chapter tests are a little annoying since you have one every other week or so, but they are much better than taking a midterm and a final.
Be aware that Kerrigan uses Mastering for the homework. Homework difficulty varies with the content but is always awful if you start late. The 5PM deadline also takes some time getting used to. Don't be afraid to ask for an extension if you need it!
Overall, I would recommend this course!
This class was awesome. Professor Kerrigan is passionate about the subject and tried to make it interesting, even though it is very similar to the material covered in Statics and Intro Mech. He is very accommodating towards his students and is approachable whenever you are stuck on something. There were 9 mini exams every week or so. It seems tedious but they weren’t difficult and actually encourage you to work through each problem instead of just rushing. The homework assignments were reasonable. Highly recommend him!
Kerrigan is a great professor who really cares about his students. He is consistent with homework and tests and would adjust around our other classes as not to overload us at any one time. The class material itself isnt too difficult and he does a good job helping you out when you ask for it. This semester he did a 9 mini-exams strategy with a short exam every week which worked out well and was well received.
Prof. Kerrigan is super funny, knowledgable and down to earth. He really opens himself up to student questions and makes sure everyone can understand the concepts. He did 9 midterms this year but he dropped the lowest grade and each exam wasn't that bad. The final was pretty easy, and overall was a really enjoyable class. Take this class with him! You won't regret it.
I loved Professor Kerrigan! The tests and assignments are all extremely fair, even though it is a difficult class. He really wants his students to succeed, and is happy to give extensions/meet outside of class/do whatever if you ask nicely. Manages to make the material really interesting, even though its basically statics 2.0. Highly recommend going to the lectures, as he doesn't post slides online. Definitely recommend his class!
