Professor Woolfork is amazing! She gives a lot of feedback on essays which is helpful. She is also really willing to meet with you outside of class to talk about essays. She usually keeps the in-class discussions very interesting and pulls in relevant outside material to solidify the concepts discussed. All of the books on the syllabus were great; I would have wanted to read them even if not for the class! Her standards are high for grading, so be prepared to put in a fair amount of work to the class. Highly recommend!

this class is great - Woolfork challenges you to think about hard questions and analyze the novels from different angles. she's a tough teacher because she expects a lot from the class. very willing to help if you go to her office hours or make an appointment! #tcf2016

Lisa is absolutely amazing. She's hilarious and such a character. She is so engaging and finds fun ways to incorporate relevant present material into the class. Her book choices are also fabulous and she plays music at the beginning of class. She is a harsh grader but it is completely constructive, and she offers a ridiculous amount of extra credit and easy points to make up for this. Fantastic. 2 4-page papers, a take-home midterm/final, weekly quizzes (which are tricky but 15% of the grade and like I said...extra credit), online responses (graded for completion), and participation.

Wonderful Professor, one of my favorites. Lectures were always very engaging and she was very accessible in office hours and eager to help in any way. Strongly recommend!
