I heard that Prof. Egorov is not usually the professor who teaches this course, but he did teach it in Spring 2026, and here's how he did...
Prof. Egorov's accent should not be underestimated. It is very strong. It will be hard to understand him. It is easier to copy whatever he's writing on the board down than to try and figure out what he's saying.
The discussion is just the TA talking to an empty classroom due to there being very few opportunities to engage with the content. No sample problems or anything.
HW is just 10 problems from the textbook each time (look for the most updated version, it should be the same one that Quantum Theory class uses). The prof did not provide a universal textbook pdf for the class to use, so some students were using the wrong textbook and answering the wrong questions. Make sure you have the right edition.
The syllabus is also just one page with no late policies, attendance policies, or anything. I guess that stuff is usually just implied. 1/3 HW, 1/3 midterm, 1/3 final, and that's it.
The final is takehome, but I only found out about it through word of mouth. The prof never officially announced it, which made life a little stressful for people who otherwise would've had to take this class's final on the same day as their other finals due to the time assignments.

I took this class virtually and did not enjoy it. That being said it could have been worse. I did not learn much and the homework did not really prepare you for the test questions so the best way to prepare was to read the book and come up with questions on your own. The lectures are just Egorov reading from the book. the homework, the midterm, and the exam are all worth 1/3 of your grade but there is a curve at the end.
I would say that this class, while not amazing, could have been worse with a different professor. The problem sets, midterm, and final are all worth a third of your grade and the whole course is curved fairly generously. I did not learn much in the course, but with the help of the TA's and the Simon and McQuarrie textbook it is not hard to come out with a pretty good grade. I attended about 1/5 of classes and was able to do okay (seriously Viranga was the best TA though)!
