This class tends to get a bum rap, and I have no idea why. Coppock is a real personable, funny guy who does a great job of relaying the material. Tests are harder than Elzinga's, but if you read and study all day the day of the test you should be fine. Did so and got and A- (and probably should have gotten an A). Great class.
This class was amazing! Coppock teaches the material of Econ 202 much better than Elzinga does his, and Coppock does it in away that is intimately related to the major current events of the day. His lectures are engaging and interesting, and the material relatively easy. If you go to lecture, pay attention, do all the reading, and put in a decent amount of time studying for his final, you will get an A. Do not be afraid of what upperclassmen tell you. Coppock has continued to modify his material (and tests!) and made the class easier and easier.
Coppock's lectures are interesting and he makes the information easy to understand. We had quizzes in discussion to help you stay on top of material and midterms weren't bad at all. However, he does the dutch knock-out, just like Elzinga, and his final can destroy your grade. Great class though - just be prepared for the final.
Just how hard was the final? Was it based on details from the textbook and/or the slides? Is going thoroughly over the textbook necessary for the quizzes and exam, or do his slides have all the information?
