Professor Meade is the coolest dude ever. He is so laid back and so nice about everything I cannot recommend him enough. This class is really chill and easy to do well in if you show up and do the work. Doesn't even feel like a second writing requirement because you can make movies, podcasts, articles, whatever you want. I was not interested in sports at all, but the sports journalism aspect of this class is phenomenal and I'm so glad I am in it.

By far one of the best classes I have taken at UVA. Marcus is a super chill and realistic professor. A pretty funny guy and class time isn't that rigorous most of the time. Rarely any homework besides watching videos or reading short sports articles to prep for something he wants to talk about in class but you don't really need to do them. If you get the gist you're fine. Your grade is composed of 3 papers but they 're on sports topics of your choice. It doesn't really feel like an assignment if you pick a topic you enjoy, and he does a good job at helping you write the paper in any aspect you may need help with. He's pretty lenient when it comes to deadlines. Your writings are posted as articles on a website (https://extrapt.com) which is really cool because anyone can access it and make comments on it. It may take some effort to write the papers but what else do you expect for your second writing requirement. I spent no more than 2 hours writing each of mine and got an A. I also highly recommend having your entire paper done by the first draft even though he doesn't require it. That way your revisions are quick and easy.
