Although Starsia is a really nice guy, there are a lot of things wrong with this class. The first being that the class teaches you almost absolutely nothing. You learn basic ideas of project management and the different styles but other than that there's not much to take away. Exam scores were directly correlated to how many "buzzwords" you fit into the answer. Exams were take home essays and there is one big project you present at the end for your final in a group on a project you researched around the area. Starsia has some great stories about the project of building the comm school and can lead interesting discussions on project management issues in current events but this class doesn't have the backing to provide a valuable learning experience.
I also had some issues in regard to how the class was graded. Starsia claimed I did not participate in class discussions but I was the rare few in the class that attended all classes. I also went to him during the midterm to ask how my participation level was and he said to me I've been maintaining a good level. That being said, he gave me something close to a D- in participation which brought my A/A- grade down to a B. Hopefully this is just the result of him getting used to grading the participation side and was just a one semester incident due to the fact that he just started teaching the class that semester. But based on my experience in that class, it's hard to recommend.
TLDR: It's a low key and not stressful class, but the learning structure/grading is not set to provide a valuable learning experience.
