Professor Schenone is hands down the worst professor I’ve ever had in my entire life from Pre-K to college. It baffles me that there any remotely positive reviews about her. The structure of the class was terrible with her going on tangents about theoretical nonsense and she ALWAYS had typos in her lecture slides and tests. She told us once that it was the students’ fault that a test had a typo and that they should’ve told her there was something wrong. Like no? I think your job as a teacher is to actually teach and make error free exams and lecture slides. She would come into class during the exams and give clarifying statements on questions people had, and then take off points for doing what she said to do. Her explanations to anybody’s questions were jumbled and left everyone even more confused. She would try to go over practice problems in class and end up confusing herself because she did them wrong because she doesn’t know what she’s doing. Her excel walkthroughs in class were not helpful at all and wrong and she ended up having the REF error throughout the whole excel sheet. She would also send us forms to be completed about very important things like quiz make-ups during Holiday Break and say that we had 4 hours to complete the form. She was extremely disorganized in her teaching method, thought process, and demeanor. Last but not least, she was THE WORST professor I’ve ever had in regard to making a connection with her students, and it was obvious she did not care in the slightest about us more than people to teach to. I’ve never seen a professor mix up so many people’s names in one class throughout the entire semester. The class was not a lot of students at all and she would repeatedly come into class and call different students different names and ask what people’s names were even at the end of the semester when calling on them in class. I’m upset that course forum makes you give the ratings from 1-5 stars because she doesn’t even deserve a 1 star - that would be too generous for the kind of class she ran this semester. Take this class with any other professor and thank yourself later.

Professor Schenone is awesome! Your grade is made up of two exams, three quizzes, and a little bit of participation. She assigns homework and gives you a timeline to follow, but never actually collects the assignments; they are just prep for the quizzes and exams. She is full of energy and has a great sense of whether the class is understanding the content. She takes time to answer all questions and somehow weaves in all the required material at the same time. She does a great job of emphasizing key concepts and does a lot of skits in class to help the material stick in your brain. She often talked through deadlines with the class to make sure we wouldn't be too stressed and considered a lot of our input. Her quizzes/homeworks do have typos, which can be frustrating in the moment, but she means well. The material is not inherently easy, but she gives you all the resources to succeed and brings a ton of positivity to every lecture.
