Very easy, exam is entirely based on the lecture. I would recommend taking him for this class. I read the textbook, but it honestly did not add anything. As long as you pay attention and take notes of the examples used in class you will do very well in the course. You have to show up to lecture but that's basically the only thing. It is pretty social business based rather than any depth into finance, accounting, or any technical knowledge. Pretty easy for a comm school requirement. Definitely take it with him, he's also a pretty nice guy to talk to.
Class is pretty easy if you pay attention in lecture and take good notes. Costanza is interesting and makes a relatively dry subject into something worth listening to, especially with how he talks about real companies in his lectures. The textbook is completely unnecessary—one chapter in module 3 (IT) was just a textbook reading and no lecture, but it was so simple that it's not worth the $50 purchase.
Costanza is a great guy and an engaging lecturer that turns content that is for the most part useless for most comm hopefuls into somewhat engaging material. There is essentially no homework, and definitely don’t bother doing any reading. I would, however, recommend writing down everything he says, every example he cites, and studying the niche parts of the lecture. The exams, for the most part are not that bad, however there will always be 5ish questions that do not make sense. Luckily, if you show up to every class and do your assignments, you can easily get an A in the class with a B average on the exams. The case studies in this class are much easier than Costa’s, so I’d recommend taking Comm 1800 with Costanza.
Overall, this course is one I would recommend taking if you have any interest in commerce. David is a great guy; however, he does get sidetracked in his lectures quite a bit. He posts notes after class and tries to answer all the questions students have. The tests are the hardest part of this course as he tries to trick students in them. Pretty Easy to get a B+, have to work hard to get an A- or A.
