Review Summary Updated April 06, 2026

Lectures are engaging and detailed study guides are provided, but the exams are purely conceptual and can occasionally feel a bit subjective. You can mostly skip the textbook since the core material is straightforward, though the case studies are deceptively difficult and will heavily drag your grade down if you underestimate them. Random attendance checks and weekly reflections make up a significant portion of the final score, so simply showing up, memorizing the posted slides, and claiming the available extra credit will easily keep you in A territory. It’s a painless, highly recommended requirement that rewards consistent class participation over heavy outside studying.

Prof. Costa is incredible! She makes class so engaging and enjoyable, and as someone who is not Pre-Comm, I was genuinely interested in the content. There is barely any work outside of class besides some book reading (mostly optional), 3 cases studies, and 6 easy, open-note quizzes. Her tests are very straight forward and if you study and memorize the content straight from the slides you will be set. The final is also weighed like a normal test and non cumulative. TOTALLY RECOMMEND!
