Trella is a great professor and really passionate about teaching this class. Even if you don't have much of an interest in archaeology this is still a really worthwhile class. Readings are usually about a chapter or less, with sometimes watching short documentaries or videos (less than 30 min of work a week). Trella really wants to get to know everyone and we had some great discussions. Final is a 5 page paper plus presentation; just plan ahead for the paper and it's really not bad. If youtake this class you'll have Trella as your advisor; he's great and super approachable if you have questions about advising or classes!

Professor Trella is a funny guy with tons of experience in archaeology -- this class as a COLA had barely any work and interesting material, and he even brought snacks towards the end of the semester. At the end of the semester, all students write a paper and give a presentation on a specific site but this was an extremely low-stress project. Would recommend taking this COLA as a stress reliever and an easy credit!
Trella is a pretty funny guy and seems to know his stuff. The course is very little work and the material is pretty interesting.
