CHEM 1410

Good class. Grades are all based on quiz scores, though, so make sure you know your stuff. You get to drop your lowest quiz grade, though, which is helpful. He's also pretty helpful outside of class with office hours and stuff.

Gerrans was a good professor to take for this class. He is very understanding, very detailed and thorough with his lectures and a good guy. The quizes are not necessarily easy and the class is curved, so stay on top of your material.

Gerrans is a great professor, especially if you're taking this class as a first year- not big and scary like some of the other science profs. Definately use the old midterms as a study guide- questions are pretty similar. And do plenty of practice problems- time is limited on the exams.

lectures not very interactive and you spend all of lecture trying to write as fast as he is going through

Chemistry was my most time consuming class. It's definitely not easy, but if you work REALLY hard, it'll pay off eventually

if you have to take chem, take it with gerrans. tests are directly from lecture and easier than the other sections'.

Great class! Great TA! All around enjoyable experience. Gerrans is a must have!

Great Professor. He's approachable, gives fair exams and his lectures aren't too dull.

This class is hard and it's meant to be--as a premed req it's trying to weed out people. And it works, b/c many a person has put aside their MedSchool dreams after this class (me included). That being said, Prof Gerrans is a friendly guy who does his best to make chemistry understandable and he's one of the better profs to take for intro chem.

Professor Gerrans is a wonderful teacher. His tests are sometimes tricky but most of the stuff is right from his notes.
