Prof Lasiecka was very helpful and her grading is very fair. As a math major I found the course material to be quite interesting, but be warned: this is *not* a calculus course in the traditional sense, this is heavily focused on proofs of operations you learned to do in calculus I and II. As a result, you do not come out of the class with greater calculation ability in calculus, but a deeper understanding of the real number system and the idea of continuity, limits, derivatives, and integrals.
Professor definitely knows what she's talking about. She is very knowledgeable of the course material. If you do well on your first two exams, she will give you the option of not taking the final, and keeping the grade that you have. Go to class because she goes over homework problems after she lectures on each section's material. She goes over one section a week. Highly recommend the course.
Prof. Lasiecka is one of the best math professors I've had. She is intelligent, kind, and funny. Her lectures are clear and organized, but it may be hard to understand her sometimes. Weekly homeworks may be time-consuming, but get started early. Quizzes are taken straight from homeworks. Tests and grading are fair.
