Course experience was just ok. I found it hard to understand a lot of Prof Peng's teaching (maybe because it was his first year teaching the course). His slides were hard to understand and often I found myself lost when taking notes in lectures and it felt like the class was not an introductory level for ML. The material is difficult and not taught well so obviously the one exam we had was very hard. However, the professor was nice and always willing to answer questions. I just wouldn't recommend taking this class unless you really need it, or if possible take it with the other professor.

This class was interesting to say the least. The class at the start was very fast paced and the workload was decently heavy, but the coding concepts were pretty cool, but complicated. There was 2 tests, but one was replaced with a factual recognition final project in groups. The weekly homeworks were long, but AI could help you out, and the test wasn’t that heavy. Overall a really interesting class and definitely gave the machine learning experience.
