Amazing professor, I love her! She's super kind, understanding and uses the actual methods to learning effectively into consideration. Our class was the first time she used contract grading which there is no promises she'll use it again but I thought the coursework and activities was fun and reasonable. She made sure that everyone had a fair shot at an A. TLDR: Great professor, great subject!
I am unsure if professor Jirout is keeping her specification grading but basically this class is graded based on what or how much you complete in the class. You can get an A with missing a minimum number of classes, pass (80% or higher) a certain number of quizzes, discussions, and exceed expectations for the Final Project. Heads up that the final project will require you to do well research and present what you researched on well in order to exceed expectations. I think professor Jirout could have organized her classes a little better but overall I HIGHLY recommend this class. The topics really relate to you as a student and how we use different cognitive abilities while we learn and things that can impact our learning. Readings can get lengthy and there's a lot of group work near the end instead of every week, which is why I rated three hours. However, she's incredibly understanding with many things so definitely don't be afraid to reach out and ask questions. I really enjoyed this class in terms of content and it wasn't a hard class at all. Again, HIGHLY recommend
