If you need to take this class, take it with him. He's super chill than the other professors. This class is pretty easy to get an A in. You can get an average ~75 on the exams, complete all of the extra credit, and get 100s on the homework to get an around A in the class. I also didn't do any of the reading, and I did well in the class. He allows unlimited cheat sheets on the exam, 5 unannounced extra credit points that get added to your final grade, 1 drop homework grade, and the lowest exam score (including the final) gets dropped.

I found this class pretty hard to follow along in. I haven't taken any stats classes before so that might be a contributing factor but I found Dr.Shuman's lecturing really confusing and way too fast to understand anything. That being said, it's a pretty easy class to get a good grade in. I feel like I haven't fully understood most of the topics and rarely did the textbook readings but I'm still ending with an A. If you're someone who struggles with math/stats this class is annoying but doable.
Grades are made up of 5 exams (4 midterms, 1 final) and 4 homeworks and you get 1 drop each. There's also 5 extra credit opportunities in class which helped boost my grade. I'm pretty sure he records lectures so if you don't need/want the extra credit lecture isn't really necessary.
This class is a dumbed down version of STAT 2120, and it's full of pre-med neuro majors that need this class as a prereq.
If you've taken any statistics class before you'll be fine. The slides themselves tend to try hard too explain a math-y topic to pre-meds, but end up just becoming confusing overall. Eric is a great guy but the nature of the class is a statistics class meant for pre-meds, and there's only so much you can do.
There's 4 homework assignments and 4 tests + a take home final that make up most of your grade. You can drop 1 homework and 1 test. There's also 4 extra credit assignments which are announced randomly in class, which are pretty easy and give 1% back to your final grade. You can get by without going to a single lecture, you'll just miss out on the extra credit.
