This class is the definition of an easy A. There are four case studies and one midterm - all open-note and largely based on repeating information from the course packet. The final project is a group presentation, which the professor emphasized should be worked on throughout the semester, but in reality, it only took a few hours to put together right before the deadline.

Did I actually learn much? Honestly, not really. The course content mostly involved watching TED Talks and having repetitive discussions about the very basic idea of social entrepreneurship - essentially, "profit with a purpose." Although the syllabus mentioned guest speakers, Mulloth failed to bring in any. In fact, Professor Mulloth even missed the final class, when students were presenting their final projects, to attend a conference in Mexico. It felt like a disappointing way to end the semester, especially for students who had put effort into their presentations.

Throughout the course, the professor often mentioned he wasn't sure how much longer he'd continue teaching and talked about offering this same class to private school students over the summer. That, combined with the lack of engagement, gave the impression that he was more focused on other priorities than truly investing in the students or course.

Overall, if you're looking for a very easy class with minimal effort required, this could be a good option. But if you're hoping to learn something meaningful or have a more engaged classroom experience, this probably isn't the right fit.

Bala makes this class very manageable for his students. The amount of work per week is never too bad. The lectures are interesting, although he does like to cold call people if participation is lacking. He does grade with the average gpa for his class not exceeding 3.5, but I managed to get an A without too much work.
