While this class was initially pitched as an easier transition to the HCI subject matter (as opposed to the other non-special topics HCI), I would still only take this class if you were certain that you are at least interested in the material. There is a significant number of readings and work that you must complete outside of the class. Additionally, there are group projects which are fairly reasonable if you are in a good group. Otherwise, good luck.

I feel it important to mention that the professor is incredibly knowledgeable and cares about the subject. The class is much more fun when students engage in class. However, like many classes, it is only as rewarding if you put in the time. And this class requires that time in order to succeed.

The course structure itself in confusing at times, however the professor does preface upcoming assignments and due dates effectively.

TLDR, you learn a lot, you read a lot, you do a lot. And that takes significant time.
