EDLF 3240

I took this class online and I am a bit conflicted as to how I would rate it. I loved the class itself and the materials that were assigned throughout the semester were almost always very interesting and I definitely learned a lot from them. A typical week of work consisted of a few readings, videos, or podcasts (articles, chapters, books, etc.) and while they were interesting, the workload seemed to increase over time. It wasn't so bad at the start of the semester, but about halfway through there wasn't enough time to complete all of the materials and post the assigned writings/forums before the due date - I found myself having to sacrifice work in other classes to complete the work for this one or vice versa which was extremely frustrating because it's not like I wasn't interested in the materials. Along with the weekly readings/materials and forum posts, there are a few essays, as well. The essays weren't particularly difficult, but one or two of them were unnecessarily long. The professor seems very nice, the only complaints that I had were that she often took a very long time to respond to emails and sometimes never responded (which was frustrating considering the fact that that was the only way to get in touch with her), and I didn't have a good idea of how well I was doing in the class until the last week of the semester because most of the grades weren't posted until then. Even with good time management skills, I still found the workload of this course to be quite challenging, however, I think I would still recommend it simply because the readings were so interesting and I learned significantly more in this class than any other that I have taken so far.
