The subject for this class was Nature and You. I overall really enjoyed the content of this course and I think it's really great for non-stem majors to use this course to frame thinking related to sustainability and for stem majors to learn more about human relations with nature and look more deeply the the ethics of development at the cost of depleting nature. I also thought that the order of the course was really logical and built on itself.
Here is the breakdown of grades:
Attendance/participation: 20%
Weekly reflections: 20%
Three quizzes: 20%
Exams: 20%
Term project: 20%
The quizzes are pop-quizzes so definitely read all the readings, but she gives 5 and grades the highest three. The midterm exam was difficult to do in the time-frame provided because it was super reading specific. Definitely take good notes of each of the readings and memorize the authors and titles of the pieces to remember the readings.
