This class is pretty unknown to MAE undergrads, but shouldn't be. Dr. Li is a great lecturer and combines qualities of the clarity and straightforwardness of Professor Smith's classes, fun lecture style of Dan Quinn's classes, and is also super approachable. Homework problem sets take about an hour each (if that, most times took about 45 min) twice a week and are pertinent to lecture material and very straightforward. Exams are free response, and he goes over exactly what you have to know in lecture right before. If you study and pay attention during that review class, you'll score high. Only 8 people in the class when I took it and Dr. Li learned everyone's name and made an effort to make the class fun and engaging. He tells funny stories about how he's used manufacturing knowledge in daily life to keep it real. Also gives out a lot of advice about finding jobs and industry stuff. Take this class if you want to learn actual useful things about design for manufacturing and want to have a chill last semester. I think this is probably one of the best MAE classes that no one registers for, maybe because it isn't required. Would recommend though - it's both not stressful and useful. Likely that all my classmates would agree too. If you attend the first lecture you'll get what I'm saying!
