I disagree with the review above. This is one of the classes you never want to take unless you want to ruin your grade.

Even though this is supposed to be a literature course, most of the class was based on film analysis. We only had one text to read the entire semester. The class definitely changes your perspective on films and Dr. Kim really encourages you to go beyond your "movie-mode" and analyze the loadedness of each scene in the films she assigns. There were weekly papers; if you want to do well on them, they had to be 4-5 pages in length. There was a midterm and two papers. People tend to withdraw a lot from this course because she is very strict in her grading, but as long as you pay attention and really try to think outside the box, you'll get the grade you deserve.
