In addition to the readings and class discussions, students engage in both consultation and supervisory activities. Students are challenged to draw upon their prior knowledge of psychological assessment, problem solving, methods of intervention, and psychological theory.     This course focuses on the theory, research, and practice of academic interventions for PK-12 students in educational settings. Using an MTSS framework, students will learn how to identify academic difficulties and select, implement, and evaluate appropriate evidence-based interventions. Emphasis will be placed on developing skills and knowledge essential for school psychologists to support academic skill development in children.
