This course is an introduction to clinical ethics, which concerns the identification, analysis, and resolution of ethical problems arising in patient care. A series of UVA faculty team-taught modules will treat such topics as travel and trade, the invention of race, cross-cultural exchange, multilingualism, conflict and trans-regional encounters, global book arts, gender and sexualities, and global religious practice. Students will be guided in producing a final seminar paper that works across disciplinary boundaries.
