This course enriches and extends the fundamental principles of epidemiology introduced in PHS 7010. Students learn the assumptions necessary for causal inference and how to comprehensively consider multiple sources of bias using causal diagrams. These topics are covered in the context of randomized clinical trails, cohort studies, and case control studies with training in the analysis of data with binary, continuous, and time-to-event outcomes.
