Pre-Requisite(s): MSE 6060 or instructor permission

Reinforces fundamental concepts, introduces advance topics, and develops literacy in the major alloy systems. Emphasizes microstructural evolution by composition and thermomechanical process control. Topics include phase diagrams, transformation kinetics, martensitic transformation, precipitation, diffusion, recrystallization, and solidification. Considers both experimental and model-simulation approaches.
