Introduction to Nursing Leadership and the Healthcare System

Course Description

Pre-Requisite(s): Graduate standing or instructor permission

Introduces the theories essential to nursing leadership in the contemporary health care system. Explores theories of change, complexity, horizontal leadership, microsystems, and decision-making and their relationship to nursing and the health care system. The course emphasizes self-assessment of leadership attributes. The course content provides an application of leadership skills to actual and/or simulated problems.
