Diagnosis & Remediation I: Word-Based Assessment & Intervention

Course Description

The course incorporates research evidence that describes key influences on word reading (e.g., phonological awareness, phonics, spelling, decoding, & fluency). Students learn to administer and interpret various types of reading assessments with the ultimate goal of using an assessment-based intervention approach. Finally, the course provides opportunities to reflect and discuss interventions targeting various sub-component skills of word reading.
