Black Women In STEM Empowered (BWISE) is dedicated to empowering and supporting Black women-identifying students in their pursuit of careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) academically, professionally, psychologically, and socially. Our mission is to create an environment that not only fosters inclusion and amplifies voices but also provides the necessary resources, networking opportunities, and mentorship crucial for the success of Black women in STEM fields particularly at the University of Virginia.
