Alright, this J-term was called "Cultural Landscapes of Virginia," and to be honest, I really enjoyed it. Prof. Johnston was superrr chill and allowed a lot of time for class discussion and just talking and sharing about our experiences of Virginia. This was a Zoom J-term, and usually he teaches it in a full semester I think, but as a Comm major I did not feel behind or anything at all, he keeps it simple. We had readings which were really interesting and over the J-term we completed and did a short presentation on our own self-chosen "Cultural Landscape Study," which I did on the Woodlawn Plantation in Alexandria, VA. It was a really fun paper to write and research for and Johnston gave us lots of flexibility in our individual topics. Again, this was a special COVID J-term I took for CR, but I loved Prof. Johnston and it was cool learning and hearing new perspectives about different parts/history of Virginia!! :)
