One of my favorite courses by far. Prof. Yasuda is wonderful, she really makes sure everyone feels included and encouraged to participate in class. The style of the class is definitely different from JPTR 3010, but it's not a bad thing at all. The books we read were very diverse and interesting; I even found a new favorite in the reading list. In terms of course logistics, there is one short reading response and one short in-class quiz per week, and then a final paper and final exam. Additionally, everyone has to do one presentation sometime during the semester. There is a lot of reading simply due to it being a literature class, but it never really felt like work so I personally did not find it to be a problem. Other than the time commitment, it really isn't a difficult course at all. If you have any interest at all in Japanese or literature, I really recommend you take this course.
