Despite the difficulty of the course, Dr. Schroeder has a well-defined and always-on-display appreciation for the material and a love of teaching it, though she didn't feel very approachable. If you have a background with this subject (art history) going in, like I did, it will be more enjoyable than going in blind, since there wasn't a large introduction to the topic. Still, you'll learn, and the material is interesting. I recommend it, though not incredibly strongly; in reality, it depends on your background and interest.
