for ODE in general, you mostly have to learn by yourself, and the profs have the same exams (i think) so really dont stress over which prof you have to take the class with. This goes for all ode classes, but its just a lot of busy work but it is doable to complete almost everything in class each day. homework can take some time but as long as you check with others should be fine
The class is entirely self-taught. All sections and professors follow the same course structure and assign the same worksheets, homeworks, and exams. Even though this is my first experience with ODE, the content way easier than I thought. The issue is that the professor and general course structure do nothing to help you. You have to figure out rules, problem solving methodologies, and equations all on your own through worksheets. It's extremely frustrating because it feels like you have no help. There are around 110 assignments in the semester: class is four days a week with pre-class worksheets due 8AM the day of, long in-class worksheets that you usually never actually finish in class due at 6PM the same day, and weekly or bi-weekly homework assignments that are usually 10-15 pages of application-level problems. Overall, the course is alright but getting used to the intensive workload is frustrating. Also remember that there are 4 midterms and APMA grading is strict, so all it takes is one bad grade to tank.
