Professor Given (aka GREG) is a genuinely kind, fun, and energetic guy. A true scholar and erudite, this man oozed passion and enthusiasm about religions and delving into the mysteries of ancient texts. His course content is original, his lesson plans free flowing, flexible, and fluid. Furthermore, Greg really cares about his students. Sometimes, we lacking and weak bodied students would become fatigued during our 2.5 hour seminar, and he would generously grant us a 10 minute break or even let us out 30 minutes early! On those days, to me, he was Generous Greg. Other times, he would ask questions in class. Naturally, there were times when a student would answer somewhat incorrectly or in a way that wasn't in accordance with where the text or the discussion was headed. However, Greg had this effortless way of making that answer sound reasonable and smoothly transitioning back into the point that he was trying to get at. Those times, to me, he was Gracious Greg. Solid guy and solid class.
