PSYC 2701

I would really recommend this optional discussion section to anyone who takes PSYC2700. It is not affiliated with the class in any way except that it somewhat follows along with what we are discussing at the same time. The discussion section focused mainly on 8 extensive readings that we did outside of class and submitted assignments for grading on. 4 assignments had to be thoughtful and critical discussion questions and 4 assignments had to be response papers. Although I didn't like this portion of the class (grading was sometimes unclear and harsh), I loved the discussions in general. Everyone was encouraged to share their opinion and bring new ideas to the table. This is why I think Jamie was such a good teacher- she mainly just moderated discussion section, asking people to expand on ideas or think of it in a new light. I would highly recommend her for anyone who is planning to take this 1-credit class. The readings were all very interesting which also led to a good discussion, unlike some other discussion sections where the readings are super dry and ancient. Overall, an awesome experience.
