Morris is a fantastic lecturer. Her lectures are very thorough and she provides some awesome review material before tests. There's almost no need to open the textbook because she covers everything you might need in class, and if you have questions she will give you a helpful answer. She's funny, knowledgeable, and very reasonable. She's also the most helpful professor at office hours that I've had so far. There are some quirks to the class - she writes her own tests and uses WebWork instead of WebAssign (no "practice another version") - but these should by no means dissuade you from taking this course. Overall, I highly recommend!
Morris is fun, enthusiastic and very flexible with her office hours, which are very helpful. She is engaging in the classroom.
If you like math theory, she's not the teacher for you. She will not take time to explain the reasons behind the concept, which I (but not all) find fascinating.
Tests are long. Homework is WebWork (1 per week), but also turns out to encompass Exam and Quiz Review sheets. Start on these early. Much easier to go to office hours and ask a question than remain stuck on them forever.
Overall: Morris is a good one to have, but I don't get the hype. I actually enjoyed Pisano much more.
Being my first course with her, I was curious to find out if all the hype was accurate. It totally is.
Genuine enthusiasm and concern for the well-being of students from a professor is something I'd never experienced before in a mathematics course. Office hours incredibly helpful and she often takes time in class to go over the most challenging homework problems. Posts lengthy reviews (and solutions!) in preparation for quizzes and exams that are tremendously helpful. You know exactly what one is expected to know for all of these assessments and have the opportunity to practice and hone it.
When it comes to class time, her lectures are unique and help steer one away from the usual monotony of slide-based math lectures. Using worksheets that require one to fill in information discussed and include helpful sample problems, the vast amount of subject matter covered in Calc 3 was all covered with reasonable depth. Do everything in your power to attend all lectures, as you can get these sheets afterwards but then have to hunt and peck through that lengthy textbook to find out what is needed to know, and oftentimes she explains differently and uses simpler notation (all such adjustments are of great assistance as well).
She actually gets to know just about everyone's name, and does so surprisingly quickly - another little nice bonus that helps make the seemingly daunting tasks a little less so.
Now, for this to all work, one needs to put forth the effort required - simply enrolling in her class and showing up to lecture unwilling to be actively engaged in it will not a great grade make. Please do use this opportunity and make the most of her class - you'll be thankful for it.
