This class is painful. Smolkin is not well liked by other professors in the department or by the students. It is one of those classes you "survive" (to quote her!). But for elem majors you just have to get through it. Good news is you can do regrades on everything pretty much. Bad news is the amount of pointless group projects is out of control. Just do your best to find things you can apply to things, enjoy the field experiences (separate from 488), and know that maybe someday the stuff you learned will come in handy.
