Professor Martinet is a great teacher! She does a great job of making a usually dry topic (statistics and regression modeling) engaging through her concise slides filled with examples that she walks the class through. This is a great class to learn more about regression analysis as well as learn SAS in. The midterm comes as a bit of a surprise, however the final is a very similar format so students have time to prepare for that. Homework and group projects were graded fairly.
Great professor! I'd highly recommend the class. She's a good lecturer (I'd recommend you go to them to do well on assignments and tests). The first homework was very long which scared some people into dropping, but I believe it was the longest and most difficult homework, so don't let that scare you. Group work is easy especially if you have a good group. I never spent more than 45 minutes on group work outside of class.
I really enjoyed this class. Prof Martinet is a great lecturer and is really good at explaining the material clearly. Attendance is optional, but important for doing well on the exam if you have no SAS background because she explains how to interpret the outputs, which is a large portion of the midterm and the homeworks. The class is organized so that you have a HW assignment and a group project for every chapter, but she gives you time in class to start the project and both are graded leniently so they are a nice grade booster. There is also an individual final project, a midterm, and a final. The midterm was too long, but she recognized that and curved everyone up 6 points, which I really appreciated. Overall, I would definitely recommend this class, or any with Martinet, to stats majors.
