Don't let the fact that this is a 4000-level course scare you off. The class touches a lot of different areas (e.g. politics, art, and law), so you definitely don't need to be a Religious Studies major to enjoy the class - or to do well. Each student is in charge of beginning and facilitating discussion for one section, but it's important to keep up the reading for each class as Portmann tracks each student's contributions to the conversation.
