Professor Allen is a fair grader for this pass/fail course. She is very approachable in person and in emails, and often was sympathetic to questions and concerns. If you miss one of the (I believe it was 4 or 5) classes during the semester, you have to write a 1-page summary on your current struggles, so it's not a big deal if you have something very pressing that day and are stressed about it. Don't feel upset that the 4-5 discussions per semester are going to go on for 2.5 hours; we were let out early every time. Sometimes I felt like I was pushing out 1 to 2 page papers a tad bit too frequently for a 1-credit course (but never overwhelming), but that is not Professor Allen's fault-- she is simply given the curriculum to give and grade, and it's a requirement, so there's not much you can do to avoid it. Overall, this course is easy and the professor is fair; despite the required writing being a bit annoying, I felt great actually going out into the field!
