Really easy course - you just need to do a couple of short essays, semi-weekly quizzes that are open note, and to complete the field experience part of the class, where you just need to volunteer 10 times over the semester in mentoring kids thru Madison House and to write a short reflection at the end of each experience. The material itself is really not hard. You will absolutely get an A if you just put in some amount of effort, show up to class, and complete assignments. If you run into any sort of trouble just let the professor know, she's always very accommodating and will extend deadlines for you if needed. Professor Wilson is also just a really nice and sweet person in general. The classes each week were low-stress, we usually just watched a short movie and had class discussions about the textbook.
EASY A!!!!! Professor Wilson (I called her Mrs. Wilson because she is a very sweet, old, and fragile lady). I would recommend taking this class if you are in need of a GPA booster. I got an A. The grade for the class consist of a 4-5 page book review for Educating Esme which was a pretty good book, attendance in lecture every week, weekly reading quizzes that you can use the textbook for, weekly journals on your volunteering experience, and a final project on any education topic discussed in class. Again this is an EASY A!!!
Ellie Wilson is honestly the best.
She is fantastic with grading and she makes her intentions with everything clear. There is no reason for someone to get anything lower than an A if they show up to class and do all the work.
By the way, people before me have said that she gives tests. That may have been true before, but it isn't any more. She doesn't give tests, she has no final. There are quizzes but they are take home and open book.
