Take this class while you can before Quandt leaves in Spring 2013 (I believe). The reading is intense but this class can be done with cramming, provided you allocate 2 days for yourself. Know the major themes and be prepared to demonstrate this in exams when crunched for time; you will need to take all of the time available. Grading is based on midterm (45%) and final (55%).

Great professor, great class. Quandt knows what he is talking about more so than any professor I've ever encountered in the area. With 30 years at the State Department he was professionally engaged in the vast majority of what he teaches.
