Great class! Professor Akhtar was very knowledgeable and knew how to foster discussions in her class, but also reign them in if they got too philosophical or too biological. She could definitely keep a middle ground between the two fields. She's also definitely a fair grader. Grades consisted of a midterm essay and a final essay (she wrote the prompts), and discussion posts in which one person developed a question based on the reading for that day's class and other people wrote insightful responses. For the essays, she really emphasizes clarity of the argument you're giving. Overall, would definitely recommend! Was a great class, I learned a ton, and Professor Akhtar was fantastic!
